Courses – General Terms and Conditions
The terms below apply to your registration for and participation in a course, training session, or event (hereinafter referred to as a "course") with ASM Design / MaxOne International AB.
1. Course participants under 18 years of age
If the person attending a course is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must register the minor. The parent or legal guardian will then become our contracting party, with the minor listed as the course participant and user of our services.
Confirmation, receipt, and course-specific information will be sent to the parent or legal guardian who made the registration. Course-specific information and confirmation will also be sent directly to the minor.
2. Course-specific information and course leader
Information regarding who is responsible for the course, a description of the course, the course fee, any additional fees or costs, payment terms, and any special conditions will be provided in connection with registration here on the website and in the course-specific information you receive when registering or along with your course summons.
3. Confirmation
Following registration, and subject to availability, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail. If you do not have an e-mail address, the confirmation will be sent by regular post.
Once you have received the confirmation, a binding course agreement has been concluded, and the right of withdrawal under point 7 begins to apply.
4. Course start, course-specific information, and summons
The course start date and specific information about the course are stated on the website. You will receive a summons in the form of a confirmation directly upon paying for the course via the website, and a reminder a few days before the course starts.
5. Course fee and payment
The course fee is stated in connection with registration on the website and in the confirmation.
The course fee is paid in advance via the website. Any additional costs will be stated in the course information and are paid on-site via Swish, cash, or card.
6. Cancelled course or changed times
If we are forced to cancel a course before it starts, you are always entitled to a full refund of the course fee you have paid. The same applies if we are forced to change the times of the course dates in a way that prevents you from attending.
ASM Design / MaxOne International AB reserves the right to cancel a course with an insufficient number of registered participants.
7. Right of withdrawal pursuant to the Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act (2005:59)
7.1 You may withdraw your course registration within 14 days from the day you received your confirmation (the withdrawal period).
7.2 If you change your mind during the withdrawal period, we will refund the course fee we have received from you, minus any parts of the course that have already been conducted. Card payments made via the website will be refunded to the same card.
7.3 If the course starts during the withdrawal period, you consent by registering to the course starting during the withdrawal period and to the right of withdrawal not applying to parts of the course conducted during that period. Your consent also means that you request the course to begin during the withdrawal period. We are then entitled to retain a proportional share of the course fee corresponding to the parts of the course completed if you exercise your right of withdrawal before the course is finished. This consent is given in connection with registration.
7.4 When booking a course on-site in our studio, the right of withdrawal under this section does not apply.
7.5 If you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us clearly and distinctly before the withdrawal period expires and before the course starts. You can use the Swedish Consumer Agency's standard form or contact us directly via the website or e-mail.
7.6 The right of withdrawal does not apply to courses that take place on a specific date or during a specific period where we would suffer disproportionate financial hardship by applying the right of withdrawal. When the right of withdrawal does not apply, this will be specifically stated in the course information.
8. Cancellation of registration after the withdrawal period
8.1 Once the withdrawal period has expired, you can no longer exercise your right of withdrawal.
8.2 If the reason for cancelling your registration or discontinuing a started course is a permanent obstacle – such as illness affecting you or a close relative supported by a medical certificate, fire in your own home, or another comparable unforeseeable reason – we will refund the course fee for the unused parts of the course. Costs for course materials are normally not refunded.
8.3 If you cancel your registration after the withdrawal period without a permanent obstacle applying, we may charge an administrative fee corresponding to the costs we cannot avoid as a result of the cancellation:
- More than 7 days before the course start: an administrative fee of 10% of the course fee, with a minimum of 100 SEK.
- 3–7 days before the course start: an administrative fee of half the course fee.
- Later than 3 days before the course start: no refund.
- If you discontinue a course that has already started, you are obliged to pay the full course fee.
8.4 Cancellations must be made by contacting us via the website or email.
9. Other absences
If you miss a course date for any reason other than those listed above, that course date is forfeited. You cannot make up the session at a later date free of charge or receive financial compensation for it.
10. Course duration and materials
10.1 The course information and your confirmation state how long the course runs and how many course dates it includes. If the course length is stated in study hours, each study hour is 45 minutes.
10.2 Loan of tools during the course is included in the course fee. Materials (such as glass, copper foil, solder and patina) are not included unless otherwise stated, but are charged according to what you use and paid for on-site at the end of the course. Approximate material costs are generally stated in the course information.
11. Complaints
11.1 If you feel that the course does not correspond to what was promised, you can make a complaint by contacting us directly.
11.2 If we cannot reach an agreement, you can turn to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) via arn.se or by post to Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm. We follow ARN's decisions.
11.3 You can read more about your rights on the Swedish Consumer Agency's website, konsumentverket.se.
12. Contact details, information and messages
12.1 Our contact details can be found on the website. This is where you turn with questions, complaints, or if you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal or cancel your course booking.
12.2 We send information and messages to the email address and mobile number you provide upon booking. If you have not provided an email or mobile number, information may be sent by post to the address you provided. Please notify us if your contact details change.
13. Accident insurance
You are personally responsible for having accident insurance.
14. Changes to the terms and conditions
ASM Design / MaxOne International AB reserves the right to change these general terms and conditions.
15. Transfer of the agreement
You may not wholly or partially transfer or pledge your rights or obligations under the agreement without written approval from ASM Design / MaxOne International AB. This means, for example, that you cannot sell or give away your course place to anyone else without our approval.
16. Copyright and marketing
16.1 Much of what course participants create during the course, alone or together with others, is subject to copyright. Each course participant holds the copyright to what they have created.
16.2 By entering into the agreement, you grant ASM Design / MaxOne International AB a perpetual right, without special compensation, to use copyright-protected material belonging to you (for example, pictures of what you have created during the course) in marketing and informational contexts, regardless of media or format.
17. Disputes
If a dispute arises regarding the agreement, the parties shall primarily attempt to reach an agreement. If we cannot agree, the dispute shall be tried by a general court with the Lund District Court as the first instance.
Products
Delivery
Artworks and products are by default collected from the studio at Hökvägen 6 in Bjärred – this is stated on each product, and we will notify you when the order is ready for collection. Products that can be shipped are delivered to Sweden and Denmark; you can choose home delivery at checkout. Normal delivery time is 1–7 working days, and orders placed during the weekend are shipped the following weekday.
Products requiring authorisation
Certain materials (such as lead-containing solder and certain chemicals) are only sold to professionals or otherwise authorised buyers. For such orders, the amount is reserved on your card, and payment is only captured once we have approved the order. If we cannot approve the order, the reservation is released and no amount is charged.
Right of withdrawal
As a consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day you received the product. Notify us via email with your order number before returning the product. The product must be returned in its original condition and packaging, and you are responsible for the return shipping costs. If the product has been handled more than necessary to determine its properties, any reduction in value may be deducted from the refund.
The right of withdrawal does not apply to products manufactured according to your specifications or that have been clearly personalised (commissioned works).
Complaints
If you discover a defect or transport damage, contact us as soon as possible at anne-lie@asmdesign.se with your order number and preferably a photo. For approved complaints, we cover repair, replacement or refund in accordance with the Swedish Consumer Sales Act.
Digital products and online courses
Delivery
Digital products (such as 3D printing files, e-books in EPUB format, and PDFs) are delivered as download links immediately after payment, on the confirmation page and via email. The links are personal and valid for a limited time and a limited number of downloads. Please save the files to your own device. Online courses are accessed via a personal link during the access period stated for the course.
Right of withdrawal
According to the Swedish Distance Contracts Act (2005:59), the right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content not delivered on a physical medium if delivery has begun with your explicit consent and you have confirmed that the right of withdrawal thereby ceases. You give this consent at checkout. Before a file has been downloaded or a course has been opened, you can contact us if you change your mind.
Usage
Files and course content are copyright-protected and are for your personal use unless otherwise stated for the product. They may not be copied, shared or resold. Objects that you print or make yourself using the files may be used freely for your own use.
Errors in a file
If a file does not work or a link has expired – contact us and we will send a new link or a corrected file.
Disputes
We follow the recommendations of the National Board for Consumer Disputes. You can also use the EU's online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/odr.
