This sculpture depicts an acoustic bass and is created in traditional Tiffany technique. The body and head are made of mottled glass in deep blue shades, with black solder joints framing and dividing the instrument's shape.
Details such as the fingerboard, bridge and strings are executed in dark tones that give the work a distinct profile. The transparent glass catches and lets through light in a vibrant way.
The sculpture is displayed on a small light wood easel that holds the piece in place.
Glass lives with the light. Colours, texture and shape may appear slightly different in reality compared to photos, as a screen can never fully capture how glass refracts and lets light through. You are always welcome to view the artwork or item in the studio before purchasing.
