A bicycle wheel transformed into a unique piece of glass art. The wheel is filled with geometric glass panels, primarily in blue, green and orange, which contrast with one another and create a sense of dynamism and movement despite the work being stationary. The placement of the coloured glass pieces creates a mosaic pattern that playfully catches and reflects the light.
The wheel's circular shape and straight spokes form a harmonious frame for the asymmetrical glass pieces – a balance between order and chaos. The work is mounted on a sturdy base and is part of the Freedom series, where the larger model Great Freedom has been shown in juried exhibitions.
Glass lives with the light. Colours, texture and shape may appear slightly different in reality compared to photos, as a screen can never fully capture how glass refracts and lets light through. You are always welcome to view the artwork or item in the studio before purchasing.
